A Message from our Chair of Presbytery, JoAnne Fletcher!

It is with great pleasure that I serve as chair of Four Rivers Presbytery. Our presbytery, with its joyful spirituality, helps our churches to live out God’s love in their communities and in the world and serves to connect them with the regional and national bodies of the United Church of Canada. I have been fortunate to attend the same United Church my entire life and am honoured to have had the chance to follow in my father’s footsteps as chair of Presbytery, a church body which was very near and dear to his heart.  In the years that I have served as a presbytery representative I have come to understand his affection for this body, which provides collegiality, expertise, support and a connection with the wider church. We have begun to envision how the best aspects of our presbytery life and work can be preserved or enhanced with the changes to come in 2019, and in the meantime we continue to meet, plan and fulfil our duties with commitment and comradery.

MEET OUR NEW PRESBYTERY YOUTH WORKER EMMA PIPES!

Emma Pipes is a recent graduate from Emmanuel College in the University of Toronto, and previously from Western University.  Her passions are working with people of all ages, social justice work, music and art, and creative approaches to faith exploration.  Her favourite colour is purple, and her favourite meal is Shepherds pie.  Emma was adopted from Peru when she was a baby and was raised in the United Church of Canada.  Her hope is to become an ordained minister next May and is grateful to have a learning opportunity in the Four Rivers Presbytery.

Welcome to the Website of the FourRivers Presbytery, the easternmost Presbytery of the Bay of Quinte Conference of the United Church of Canada! We are comprised of twenty-two Pastoral Charges encompassing thirty-six preaching places reaching from Parham to Brockville and from Carleton Place to Inverary.
